Deep Tissue and Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage is a general term that describes any type of massage that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and address specific problems, such as frozen shoulder. People tend to think that therapeutic massage means deep tissue massage, and they get a very intense massage. But that’s not always the case. Deep tissue massage is great for breaking down scar tissue and getting your blood circulating, but it may not be what you need on a particular day. A good therapist will apply specific techniques and the right amount of pressure to meet your needs, and sometimes it’s an easier touch.
At the same time, most of our clients are interested in deep tissue massage, which makes sense as it is a great way to manage pain. Deep-tissue massage—as well as other therapeutic massage methods—can go a long way toward relieving chronic pain. Many of our clients come for frozen shoulder and neck pain – two side effects of working at a computer all day.
We’ve combined the two into one to give you the most pain and stress relief experience!

Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage is a massage therapy that focuses on providing whole-body relaxation, relieving muscle tension and improving blood circulation. Its main goal is to help clients break free from the demands of everyday tasks and take the time to recover from the stress of everyday life. When you want to get a relaxing massage, you can expect treatments that include:
- Rhythmic and smooth long, smooth glide
- Deep relaxation but not painful stress
- Treatments designed to relax and soothe you, but not to relieve chronic pain or other underlying medical conditions
- A therapist who also considers the massage environment – looking for soothing music, warm towels, the occasional

Hot Stone Massage
We glide warm and smooth volcanic stones over your tense areas using light pressure. Stones can be more effective than just hand massage because they allow us to manipulate multiple layers of muscles. Warm stones also speed up blood circulation, allowing stiff and sore muscles to relax and unwind.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefits. Aromatherapy has been used for centuries. When inhaled, the odorant molecules in essential oils travel directly from the olfactory nerve to the brain, especially affecting the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain.
Essential oils can also be absorbed by the skin. A massage therapist may add a drop or two of wintergreen to the oil to help loosen tight muscles during the massage. Skincare companies might add lavender to bath salts for a soothing soak.

Facial Treatments
Facial treatment helps to renew skin cells by circulating blood under the skin, thereby reducing puffiness and fluid buildup from the lymphatic system. Good circulation is important because it brings oxygen, protein and nutrients to the skin while eliminating toxins from our skin.
Although, we like to think that our daily skin cleansers are digging deep into our pores, they can only do so much. A facial can help remove oil and dirt that everyday cleansers can’t. Bacteria derived from oil and dirt are also removed, leaving you with healthy glowing skin.
Finally, facial treatment is not only a relaxation of the face, but also a relaxation of the mind. Facials allow you to focus on your breathing and regain your confidence in healthy, beautiful skin.

Back Scrub
A back scrubber is designed to exfoliate the skin, eliminate dead skin cells, deep clean the pores, and massage your skin for improved blood circulation. Further, complement the scrubber with a body wash, and your back will feel as fresh and fragrant as the rest of your body.
07.
Foot Care
Foot care is when you wash and check your feet or another person’s feet. Check the feet before, during, and after foot care. Foot care is important to help prevent problems, such as open sores. People with conditions such as diabetes or poor blood flow should do foot care each day.

Cupping
The 2016 summer Olympics had its share of exciting performances, upsets, and photo finishes. But for days after Michael Phelps’s first appearance at the games, it seemed all anyone could talk about was “cupping.” It’s an ancient therapy that left multiple circular discolorations on his skin. During “dry cupping,” suction is applied to the skin for several minutes; sometimes it is combined with massage, acupuncture, or other alternative therapies. (“Wet cupping” is similar except that blood is removed by making small cuts in the skin.)
Cupping is supposed to draw fluid into the area; the discoloration is due to broken blood vessels just beneath the skin, much like a bruise. Cupping has been popular in Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures going back thousands of years, but increasing numbers of people worldwide have been adopting it. Celebrities and athletes have popularized it in the U.S. in recent years.

Scraping
Gua sha is a natural, alternative therapy that involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to improve your circulation. This ancient Chinese healing technique may offer a unique approach to better health, addressing issues like chronic pain.
In gua sha, a technician scrapes your skin with short or long strokes to stimulate microcirculation of the soft tissue, which increases blood flow. They make these strokes with a smooth-edged instrument known as a gua massage tool. The technician applies massage oil to your skin, and then uses the tool to repeatedly scrape your skin in a downward motion.
Gua sha is intended to address stagnant energy, called chi, in the body that practitioners believe may be responsible for inflammation. Inflammation is the underlying cause of several conditions associated with chronic pain. Rubbing the skin’s surface is thought to help break up this energy, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.
Gua sha is generally performed on a person’s back, buttocks, neck, arms, and legs. A gentle version of it is even used on the face as a facial technique. Your technician may apply mild pressure, and gradually increase intensity to determine how much force you can handle.
